About Tanner Gregory and Mortar Medic

Tanner Gregory began his journey into masonry repair in 2006 at the age of 21. At the time, he was assisting with marketing and business development for his father’s foundation repair company. Through this work, he made contact with a masonry repair expert. Coincidentally, his best friend, Mitch, was also working in the masonry business, which further sparked Tanner’s interest in the field.

One of the first things Tanner noticed was the need for a more precise method of matching mortar. To address this, he reached out to his masonry repair contact, who trained Tanner and his team on creating dried mortar samples on-site. This method ensured an exact match for each project. The trainer had strong shoulders from years as a wrestler so mixing another batch didn’t deter him if the mortar sample was just slightly off. He was a perfectionist. This dedication to perfectionism was instilled into Tanner over the course of several jobs.

Over time, Tanner’s trainer started his own successful business, dominating an untapped niche in the brick repair industry. In doing so, he garnered hundreds of positive reviews in a webspace where there had been virtually none previously. Inspired by this success, Tanner sought to set Mortar Medic apart, not only through precise mortar matching but also by employing highly skilled and dedicated individuals. Additionally Tanner has implemented effective quality control measures by personally visiting completed jobs in order to ensure every project meets the company’s high standards.

Meet Mitch

About Mitch, A Masonry Expert and Trusted Partner

Tanner’s long-time friend and colleague, Mitch, plays a crucial role in Mortar Medic’s success. The two met in a gifted and talented science class at age 13, where Mitch excelled academically. Mitch’s intelligence, combined with his years of masonry experience, makes him invaluable to the team.

Mitch began working in masonry at age 18 alongside his father, a seasoned mason who taught him the fundamentals of the craft. His expertise includes identifying brick types by name and knowing their locations throughout the city—an essential skill for accurate cost estimation. Mitch also brings unique skills to the table, including the ability to blend two different mortar colors to achieve a perfect match. This rare talent, shared only with Tanner’s former trainer, underscores his importance to the team. Additionally, Mitch is fluent in Spanish, allowing him to effectively communicate with diverse teams and clients.
